18 . After Regulation fifty-eight of the principal Regulations
there shall be inserted the following Regulations: —
F.xemp- 59, — (j) The Secretary of State may by order, to

relating to conditions, as may be specified in the order, exempt
factories, any particular premises or operations or class of
mines and premises or operations from the Factories Act, 1937,
quarries^ if h e i s satisfied that such exemption is, by reason of

public interest in order to secure or facilitate the carry
ing on of work in those premises or in that class of
premises, or the carrying on of those operations Por of

(2) The Board of Trade may by order, to such
extent, during such period, and subject to such con
ditions, as may be specified in the order, exempt any

1911, the Metalliferous Mines Regulation Acts, 1872
