(3) This Regulation shall, in its application to
Northern Ireland, have effect subject to the following
modifications: —
{a) for the reference to the Factories Act, 1937,
there shall be substituted a reference to the
Factories Act (Northern Ireland), 1938;
(b) for the reference to the Quarries Act, 1894,
there shall be substituted a reference to the
Quarries Act (Northern Ireland), 1927;
and
(c) for the references to the Secretary of State and
to the Board of Trade there shall be substi
tuted respectively references to the
Ministry of Labour for Northern Ireland
and to the Ministry of Commerce.

ties for transport, and may impose such prohibitions,
restrictions or obligations in respect of the use of
machinery, appliances, materials or processes, as
appear to the Secretary of State to be necessary or
expedient for the purposes of the order.
