In pursuance of the authority delegated to me by His Imperial Majesty, The King-
Emperor, I make the following awards for gallantry and distinguished service in the
field
Awarded the Military Medal.
No 77!O, Driver Findlay Cook MACKAY, Australian and New Zealand
Wireless Squadron
Promoted to 3rd Class Interpreter with pay of that grade, with
effect from 22nd November, 1915.
4th Class Interpreter HASSAN AHMED.—For gallant conduct. During heavy
fighting, hearing that some British Officers had been wounded, he searched lor and found
them and brought up medical aid. He then returned and rendered similar assistance to
several rank and file of the battalion He crossed a fire swept zone no less than four
times in doing 80
