HHAPTER V: KIT.7AIT.

Pearls. The pearl season showed a slight improvement
in prices and finds over last year. The largest pearl

Relations with Foreign Powers .
(A) Saudi Arabia . Ibn Saud with nearly 700 followers
paid a private visit to the Ruler at the beginning of the
year. The Trade Blockade continues but it is hoped this
long standing grievance of the Ruler will be removed short].y.
(3) Iraq . amuggling between Kuwait and Iraq is still
flourishing and relations between the two countries are
distinctly unfriendly. There is a real danger that
unless smuggling is stopped the Iraqi may blockade the
frontier.
Oil . The Kuwait Oil Company have failed to strike*
oil at Bahra and have commenced boring at a new site.
CHAPTER VI: BAHREIN.
Pages 59-47 . The Huler paid a visit to England during the
year where hems the guest of H.M. G. for a fortnight.
Police . Police duties increased during the year
and the strength of the force has been increased from 182
to 218.
Oil . 500,400 tons of crude oil and 9,200 tons of
fuel oil were shipped from Bahrein during the year and the
total royalty paid to the State amounted to Rs. 17,83,600.

This volume contains copies of the annual 'Administration Reports of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. ' prepared by the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in Bushire and printed at the Government of India Press in New Delhi for the years 1926-1938.

These annual reports are divided up into a number of separate reports for different geographical areas, usually as follows:
