On 9tn August,1925, Ibn Saud expressed his
desire to send a mission to India, Ceylon and LCalaya;
its objects were to expound religious views and
contradict hostile propaganda, raise charitable
funds, and encourage the pilgrimage. The Government
of India raised an objection (which was subsequently
withdrawn) to the personnel of the Mission. It *
was not until 1st December that the Consul at Jeddah
was instructed to inform Ibn Saud that the objection
was withdrawn. He telegraphed on 8 th December that-
Ibn Saud proposed to send the delegation to India
during February. H 0 stiljties in the Hejaz ended
a week later, and we have heard nothing more about
the Mission.
