obligations towards His Majesty’s Government
in respect of these territories, Mr. Amery sees
no reason to defer representations to Ibn Sa*ud
on the subject of the Amir of Rasa’s activities, and
he proposes that it should be left to Mr. Jordan
to decide at what moment in the negotiations
these representations shoul i be made.
4. I am to a'dd that Mr. Amery has not as
yet received a reply to his telegram No. 275 of
the 3rd of October to the High Commissioner for
Palestine in regard to the delimitation of tne
Trans-Jordan Nejd and T r ans-Jordan-Hejaz frontiers,
copy of which was enclosed in the letter from this
Department No.C 18498/26 of the 7th of October and in
view of the urgency of opening the negotiations for
the revised treaty, he proposes that this question
should be dealt with in a subsequent despatch. He
considers it important, however, to secure Ibn
Saul’s explicit recognition of the frontier defined
