764 (a). Ahwaz Koad.—Pilgrims continue to arrive by this road which ap-
nears to be safe, although Messrs. Ziegler on 2nd June notified a robbery reported
to have occurred on 3rd May at Jam of one bale Mexicans, their property.
(b\ Independently of Messrs. Lynch’s caravans there have been large arrivals
cf aoods property of Behbehani and other Persian merchants many of
now prefer to manage their forwarding themselves rather than through Messrs.
Lynch.
(r) On 18th June Messrs. Lynch received and transmitted to the Consulate-
General information that on the evening of 17th a Dehkurdi caravan had been
attacked on the Gav Peeseh Pass, some 15 mules with loads being carried
and two of the guards who chased the robbers, killed.

condMon*of this portion of the road which lies within Ispahan territory. _

and 188 packages despatched to Ahwaz.
