l recently received a letter from Governor saying
that local Southern Naval Bureau had decided? as a result of
discussions between the quarters concerned in Tehran* that the
three rows of o-old should bn removed from collars of uniform of the
crew of the launch of this Consulate-General and requesting me to
arrange to have them removed*. I replied to the effect that the
matter had been discussed by His Majesty’s negation with competent
authorities* but that His Majesty 9 s Legation were not,so far as I
know y aware of this decision and I suggested that the Governor
should refer the matter to his authorities in Tehran*
