The file contains letters, telegrams, minutes, notes, and draft correspondence concerning the appointments and movements of staff at the Muscat Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. and Consulate. The correspondence deals with the granting of consular powers to the new appointee, and includes letters of appointment issued by the Foreign Office. These powers were requested by the Government of India and given by the King, via the Foreign Office. Other matters covered by the papers include:
