A copy of a letter from Sir Charles Grant, Chairman of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company, to Hosein Mahommed [Ḥājī Muḥammad Ḥossein Khān Amīn al-Dawlah], Persian Minister, sent from London and dated 21 March 1810. The letter concerns the arrival of Mirza Abu’l Hasan [ Mīrzā A title of honour originally applied to princes, later to military leaders, and later still to secretaries, chieftains, and other ‘gentlemen’. Abul Hassan], Persian Ambassador, in London to conduct treaty negotiations, and expresses hope for stronger political and commercial relations between Persia and Britain.
