A copy of a letter from Brigadier-General John Malcolm, Envoy of the Supreme Government of India to Persia [Iran], to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company, dated 4 August 1810, enclosing a copy of dispatch addressed to them dated 15 July 1810 (not included in this item) and copies of correspondence between Malcolm and the following: Sir Harford Jones, British Envoy Extraordinary to Persia; Neil Benjamin Edmonstone, Chief Secretary to the Government of India (which includes a translated copy of a letter from the King [Shah] of Persia [Fath-‘Ali Shāh Qājār] to Lord Minto, Governor-General of Bengal); and Lord Minto.
