Genre/Subject Matter:

View from the old fort on Hormuz Island (perhaps the Fort of Our Lady of the Conception, also known as the Portuguese Castle) towards a settlement, probably Hormuz itself. All the structures are low-lying stone buildings with wooden or reed roofs.

Craggy hills rise in the background. At left the shoreline curves away into the distance.

This is the first (right-hand) image in a panoramic pair taken from the same position. The second is Photo 49/1/14.

Dimensions:

Condition:

The print is in good condition, though the mounting paper is heavily foxed and crumbling. A line curves from right to left across the centre of the image and may be the result of tearing or an incision with ink.
