This letter, received 28 April 1780 by the Eagle Snow , includes extracts (no. 39) from the Company's commands of the 23 December 1778 and 27 May 1779, which were received via the Resolution and the Hawke . The letter discusses the wool trade and states that this season's exports include 136 bales of broad cloth and 200 long ells for the Bushire market. The aforementioned extracts include: information regarding the reprimand of Captain Burnet Abercrombie; details of the appointment of a secret committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. for arrangements for the safety of the Company's shipping; and a list of names of writers appointed by the Company for that season.
