In this letter Samuel Manesty acknowledges the receipt of Edward Galley's letters of 3 August, 4 and 18 September and 1 October 1785. Manesty reports the arrival at Bussora [Basra] of two French ships, the Amphitrite and the Prevayance . He reports on the movements of the Venus Frigate and states that the Eliza and the Scorpion are awaiting the arrival at Bussora of public dispatches from Europe.
