Letter documenting a resolution of the Government at Bombay approving of Colonel Pelly's proceedings and thanking both Pelly and Captain R A Brown for 'the way in which they have vindicated the position of the British Government in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. '.
The letter was also sent to Captain R A Brown, RN Commanding HMS Vigilant and to the Government of India.
