The letter relates to the Government’s request that the Resident send a report on British relations with the native tribes of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. to Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence, Agent to the Governor General of the States of Rajpootana [Rājasthān]. Disbrowe writes that a full copy of the report has been dispatched to Lawrence onboard the Honourable Company’s frigate Queen .
