This letter concerns the movement of French ships in the Gulf and the dispatch of the Mercury to Bombay with Mr Sullivan on board. Also discussed is the procurement of another ship for Mr Robert Orford to track the French ships out of the Gulf. William Digges Latouche informs Edward Galley, Resident at Bushire, that Orford has taken signals from Captain William Applegath to use in case of meeting the Mercury on his return.
