‘File 8/1. Casualties in the al-Subah family of Kuwait’

The file contains correspondence related to casualties suffered by the Al-Sabah [Āl Ṣabāḥ] ruling family of Kuwait. There are copies of letters and telegrams conveying messages of condolence to the Shaikh [Emir] of Kuwait [Shaikh Aḥmad al-Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ] and other family members, along with the replies received acknowledging these messages.

Arrangement

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file. Folio 24 contains file notes.

Physical characteristics

Foliation: the foliation sequence commences at the front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 25; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 2-21; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled. A previous foliation sequence, which is also circled, has been superseded and therefore crossed out.
