The letter encloses copies of letters forwarded by the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Muscat on the cultivation of dates in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , including a section of the report written by Mr Dawson of Basra 'on the Fauna, Flora and Geology of the parts of the Batinah visited by him in 1927' (folios 12-22).
