- Physical characteristics
Foliation: the foliation system in use commences at the front cover and continues through to the back cover. The sequence appears written in pencil, enclosed in a circle, in the top right hand corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. page of each folio. ff.89, 90, 100, 101 need to be folded out to be read. Foliation anomalies: f.1 is followed by ff.1A, 1B, 1C, 1D. A second sequence also appears, again written in pencil, but not circled, in the same area of many of the folios, but this sequence is not consistent.
