This letter concerns two Frenchmen who have arrived from Bagdat [Baghdad]. William Digges Latouche suspects that one of these men is charged with packets for India. He informs Edward Galley that this man is heading to Muscat by boat. Latouche expresses his hope that Captain William Applegath will be able to seize the man before he reaches Bushire. He requests that Galley detain the man, should he reach Bushire or any other part of Persia, in order to prevent him from procuring a passage to India.
