With reference to your 69479, 26th October (N. 3L W. S.). At Petrovsk
Bicharakov is in wireless communication with Mozdok via Risliar, where he
has a cavalry wireless station but apparently Mozdok is not in wireless touch
with Ekaterinodar. But at Mozdok Denikin has representative named General
Lovshin. This officer thinks Denikin’s troops will reach Mozdok shortly. An
aeroplane from Denikin recently brought despatches to Kisliar, and returned.
At the request of General Lovshin, I am arranging to send a British liason
officer to Mozdok. It should be noted that Bicharakov’s attitude may change
at any time as he is opposed to our policy as regards Caspian shippiug though
at present he is anxious to remain in touch with us. In regard to an alterna
tive means of communication with Mozdok, should the Petrovsk route be closed,
enquiries are proceeding.
