The map shows a stretch of the Shatt al Arab River in the vicinity of Fao, indicating hydrology and the locations of buoys, lights and prominent buildings, with short notes on navigation.

The map was made 'from a tracing by C.C. Johnson, Lieut. (N.) H.M.S. Highflyer.', and bears the printing statements, 'S[imla] D[rawing] O[ffice] Topo. Dy. No. 89. Exd. C.J.A., July 1911.', 'No. 5,253. 1911.'.
