A letter to the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company, signed by William Phipps. The letter is dated 19 August 1721, but it includes a duplicate copy of a letter dated 20 July 1721 (see also IOR/G/17/1 Part 1 ff.64-67). The letter reports progress made on standardisation of weights, and anxiety that the Dutch traders may have settled a more profitable trading agreement for exporting coffee. The letter was received via the ship Aislabie on 22 April 1722. It was read in the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company on 22 April 1722.
