General letter from Mocha to the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. , 11 August 1722. Signed by Henry Albert, John Geekie, John Style and Thomas Rammell. It was received via the ship Townshend on 8 June 1723.
The letter discusses matters including: how much coffee had been purchased and dispatched on ships from Mocha; the dispatch of lead and cloth to Bombay on the ship Dawsonne ; and the Governor of Mocha stopping the authors from exporting coffee, due to them refusing the King of Mocha’s demand for a present from all Europeans, until they eventually submitted.
