(Repeated India and Deputy Adjutant-General, 3rd Echelon, Basrah.)
Your 59542, June 4th (Dy. No. 43772). Will accept as many all
Burmese Ford Van companies as possible, the remainder to be mixed in the
usual proportion of 60 per cent. British and 40 per cent. Asiatics. Concerning
the new M. A. C., arrangements are being made to convert 3 existing M. A. C.’s
into mixed units. This will leave a small surplus after providing 60 per cent.
British drivers. British, personnel will be required for all mobile workshop
and also a proportionate increase for heavy repair shops. Suggest that you
send, cars for 3 companies and 1 M. A. F. with workshop personnel for those
4 units only. As Asiatic drivers become available I will ask for cars for
other companies.
