To—The General Officer Commanding, Force (< D/ J Basrah.
Continuation my S -30119 of 9th December. Following barges available
from Calcutta, Bengal Assam Steam Ship Company :—1 open iron barges, 100
feet by 20 feet by 8 feet, capacity 200 tons, light draught 1 foot 6 inches, loaded
draught 5 feet. Indian General Navigation Company :—6 barges, open hull,
112 feet 6 inches by 22 feet 6 inches by 8 feet, capacity 157 tons, light draught
2 feet 6 inches; loaded draught 5 feet.
All these barges can be fitted with decks and hatches but this will take a
full month.
Please wire if they are required, and if so whether they should be fitted
or not.

after sailing, it would be convenient if this could be adhered to.
Please also make arrangements for telegraphing names of invalided officers
on board all hospital ships and date each vsssel sails.
