letter of 6th May is awaited. Adds that
His Excellency in Council agrees with
Major Miles, for the reasons stated by
him, that it is important to make the
offending tribes understand that such
offences on British subjects will not be
allowed to pass unnoticed.

letter, and states that a report on the
result of his proposed interview with
the Sultan of Muscat is awaited. In
the event of Syud Toorkee deciding to
adopt coercive measures against this
piratical tribe, authorizes him to offer
His Highness the aid of the British
Government so far as it can be affoided
by the Gulf squadron.

Abstract are not sent. They will be found recorded m the Volume
of Proceedings as indicated opposite those numbers.
