We have the honor to forward, for the information of Her Majesty’s
Government, a copy of the documents specified in the accompanying Abstract of
Contents, relative to an outrage committed by some members of the El-Jafferah,
a sub-tribe of the Beni-Boo Ali Arabs, on British protected subjects at Hillaneeab,
one of the Kooria Mooria Islands.
2. The Beni-Boo Ali tribe were in former days notorious pirates, and in
view of the necessity of checking promptly such acts, we have authorized the
Political Besident in the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
to offer the Sultan of Muscat aid so
far as it can he afforded by the Gulf Squadron, in the event of His Highness
deciding to adopt coercive measures against the tribe.
