A treatise in ten chapters (أبواب) on the uses of the astrolabe Ancient instrument for astronomical observations. , one of numerous works on astronomical instruments authored by ʿAlāʾ al-Dīn Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Shāṭir (علاء الدين أبو الحسن علي بن إبراهيم ابن الشاطر, d. 1360).

Begins (f. 1r, lines 2-4):

قال الشيخ العلامة الحيسوبي الموقت

ابن الشاطر تغمده الله برحمته آمين

الحمد لله الذي له ما في السموات وما في الأرض وله الحمد في الآخرة وهو الحكيم الخبير

Ends (f. 4r, lines 18-20):

... وتزيد على نصف

النهار وأيضًا أربعة وعشرين وتخرج له الارتفاع وذلك وقت آخر العصر وهنا

انتهى الغرض والحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على سيدنا ومولانا محمد
