Indents to be submitted on the Ordnance Department in the usual manner.
... . . 624. Dead Horses, Mules and Camels, from Veterinary Hospitals and Convalescent
Depots. Remount and Transport Depots in Baghdad. Amarah and Basrah, which are
passed by a Veterinary Officer as free from contagious and skin disease are to be flayed
under unit arrangements and despatched to the Tannery or nearest Butchery to be dry
salted.
Mosquito Ne t-,Spine 625 All Spine Pads and Sun Shades will be withdrawn from troops and
Pads & Sun Shades returned to the nearest Ordnance Depot from 1st November.
Similarly, all Mosquito Nets will be withdrawn after 30th November, except in the
area from the Base to Qalat Saleh, inclusive

Great care is to be taken not to damage petrol and kerosine oil tins.
The majority of tins are fitted with a screw cap in one corner. This is to be
unscrewed or the top of the cap may be punctured or removed in order to pour off the
contents. No holes are to be made in any other part of a tin fitted with a screw cap.
Supply Officers will keep a careful record of all tins issued to units and will at
once bring to notice any contravention of this order.
All tins in good condition are to be returned to the Base at once and are to be
carefully stowed to prevent any damage in transit.

The volumes contain the General Routine Orders [until 25 September 1916 referred to as Force Routine Orders] by the Commander of Indian Expeditionary Force D between 28 December 1915 and 10 July 1918, along with annexures to these orders and lists issued with the orders. Topics covered include:

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the volume.

Physical characteristics

Foliation: this file consists of two physical volumes. The foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the first folio of volume one (ff 1-188) and terminates at the last folio of volume two (ff 189-378); these numbers are printed and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. The foliation sequence does not include the front and back covers of the two volumes. The sequence contains one foliation anomaly, f 308a.
