AND BOUNTIES Fo. 59437, dated 14th June, 1916, from His Excellency the Commander-
B.A. in-Chief in India, to the Secretary, War Office, London.
Please telegraph whether men enlisted in India on ordinary or war engagements
for Regular Army, including those attested for actual military service overseas for term
of one year or less, can, on expiry of their term of agreement plus extra year under
Section 8< (1), Army Act, or form of attestation for military service overseas, be
retained under Military Service Act, Session 2
No. 9459-A G. 26, dated 9th July, 1916, from the Secretary, War Office,
London, to His Excellency the Commander-in-Ohief in India.
Your telegram of 14th June, 59437. Men enlisted in India under Army Act were
liable to additional 12 months’ service required by Section 87 (1) and may be retained
duration of war under Military Service Act, Session 2. unless excepted under provisions
of paragraph 1, Army Order this year III, June 8th. Men enlisted under Indian Army
Act not liable to be so retained but should be given option of re-engaging.

Station Orders.
