The map shows a geological representation of the area around Khanaqin. The legend of the map shows the vertical sections of the map and describes the symbols used in them. ‘The northernmost section of the map was mapped by Mr J Brown of the Anglo-Persian Oil Company. The map was created to complement a geological report on Mesopotamia [Iraq]. The bottom of the map includes the following printed statements: ‘Reg No 2268 E 18’ and ‘HELIOZINCOGRAPHED AT THE SURVEY OF INDIA OFFICES, CALCUTTA [Kolkata]’.
