Two chapters on making astrological judgments on the basis of solar eclipses.

This text is numbered 13 (يج) in the present collection.

Contents:

  • Chapter in which judgment by eclipse of the Sun is discussed (باب يذكر فيه الحكم على كسوف الشمس, ff. 136r-148v);
  • Chapter in which the indications of the eclipse in the twelve places is discussed (باب يذكر فيه دلالات الكسوف في البيوت الاثنى عشر, ff. 148v-150r).

Begins (f. 136r, lines 2-7):

أقول وبالله التوفيق أما الجنس الذي يؤثر فيه

الكسوف فهو من جوهر البرج الذي يقع فيه الكسوف

مثاله إن وقع في البروج الناطقة كان الحادث

في الإنسان وإن كان في ذوات الإطلاق

كان الحادث في الغنم والبقر وإن كان في البروج

المائية كان الحادث في حيوان الماء ...

Ends (f. 150r, lines 4-6):

وفي الثاني عشر يدل على ظفر الأعداء بإقليم برج

الكسوف ويتغلبوا عليه وكثر القتل في أهله

ووصلت إليهم بذلك مضرة شديدة وأمور مهلكة
