The General OfiBcer Commanding, Force “ D ”, was informed that tbe U?'lana wou
bring back about 480 horses. As India was unable to accomm odate more at present owing
congestion suggested, remount accommodation in Force “D ” should be augmented.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D ”, was asked to wire a categorical account of the situa-
tion as regards the new Ford Van Companies.
The Deputy Director of Works, Basrah, was asked to send a reply regarding the supply of tramway
truck.
The Secretary, War Office, said Baghdad’s proposal to appoint Lieutenant-Colonel James, Director
Supply and Transport, vice Brisadier-General Ryams was not understood in view ot Lenera
Officer Commanding Force “ D ”’s previous suggestion to abolish this post.
The Political Eesident, Baghdad, suggested that Sir A. Webb, Egyptian Government Agent, be ap.
proached with a view to his acting in a like capacity for the Civil administration of Mesopotamia.
The Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. , Baghdad, was asked to whom the above wire was addressed
