Muscat .—I concur in view expressed in last paragraph of your telegram
of the 18th ultimo. (Diary No. 4925). There would be no advantage that
I can see in diverting Wilson’s attention and energy from affairs of Mesopotamia,
which are being conducted by him with such marked ability, to those of com-
paratbely distant regions such as Maskat and Bushire about which he is
necessarily well informed. Such instructions in this sense as you may think
desirable should please be sent to him.

terms of your proposal who may intend to take their families home from
India.
