The Secretary, War Office, was told that the programme for the evacuation of Mesopotamia had been
provided for without using vessels which had been detailed for the Mesopotamian Egypt run.
The Secretary, War Office, informed General Officer Commanding:, Eorce “ D of the composition
and strength of the army of occupation which would be under his command.
The Deputy Adjutant-General, Cairo, notified the despatch to Bombay of the 2-42nd Deolis on
the Mutlah on the 5th Eebruarv.

The General Officer Commanding:, Eorce “ D,” was told by S cretary, War Office, that it proposed
to dispose of the balance of 1,000 plant on the Ruz-Hamadan road. He was asked if he required
any for general purposes. ' ^

The Director of Ordnance Stores, Baghdad, asked if India or Egypt would accept 10/ 00 000 rounds
300 Russian small-arms ammunition for breaking up on account of it value in brass and lead.
The General Officer Commanding, Force i( D/* commented on the question of the reduciion of the
wave length of the Basrah wireless station.

Wilsons, Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. , Baghdad.
The General Officer Commanding Eorce “ D,” was informed of the best way of despatching families
to England.
The General Officer Commanding:, Force “D,” was asked by Secretary, War Office, to give
specific reasons for including a section of Howitzer in mountain batteries.
