In this force the employment of Army Schoolmasters as Cipherists has
proved an undoubted success. Being relieved of this arduous routine duty,
Staff Officers have been enabled to devote their whole attention and time to their
legitimate work. I would ask whether any scheme for the future employment or
specialists in Cipher work is in contemplation. If not I would urge necessity
tor this innovation and suggest the enrolment of extra personnel in the K. A.
S. C. Clerk Section or Indian Miscellaneous List for this purpose.
