Requirements after demobilization ; at least 175 officers, against which
number only the 120 reg ilar Royal Engineer officers, Civilians,
and Upper Subordinates referred to above can be reckoned at
present.
3. I am to request therefore that you will, if possible, state : —
(a) What engineer officers will be required with the Eorce in Mesopota
mia after demobilization is completed, and excluding those with
Sapper and Miner units.
(b) Whether any of the officers, other than regular Royal Engineers,
will be willing to serve on temporarily after demobilization, and
if so, how many.
(<?) What regular Royal Engineer officers with the force propose to
retire, or to revert to the Home Establishment.
(d) Which of the regular Royal Engineer officers now with the Eorce>
and of the non-regular Royal Engineer officers, who as proposed
under (b) may be willing to serve on temporarily, will require
leave to England.

following is the programme for Cavalry Units, viz.: —
Torilla after bringing back the animals of 21st Cavalry, returns for
animals of 12th Cavalry, leaving Basra about February 3rd, Sofala, due to
leave Basrah about March 14th, detailed for 14th Lancers.
Bandra and Batnora, in respon se to D. N. T. 0., Basrah’s wire to
Bombay are diverted to Bombay.
