It is still the intention to increase to 80 per cent. Indians in Pord Van
Companies. Now that British reinforcements have been stopped, the percent
age of Indians must necessarily be increased to replace British wastage.

October 19th. There is no indication here that the 3rd Caucasus Division has
ever gone east of Tiflis.
Unless other information to the contrary has come to you, it is suggested
for your consideration, in the light of ray X.-3206 (Dy. No. 84875), that the
division mentioned in my X.-3990 (Dy. No. 94251), dated November 22nd, is
the 5th Caucasus Division, rather thau the 3rd Caucasus Division.
