My Brigadier-General, General Staff for Intelligence, Brevet-Colonel (Tern
porary Brigadier-General) W. H. Beach, R.E., has now but little work to do
owing to cessation of hostilities in this theatre. If his services can be
employed in the Caucasus without loss of rank they would in my opinion
prove of considerable value as he has an extensive knowledge of affairs
m the Caucasus and of their connection with Persia and Mesopotamia
