1. The numbers of British Infantry drafts which are available for trans
fer have been noted.
2. Not now proposed to despatch 12 untrained battalions to Mesopotamia
from India.
3. Not intended to break up the 13th Division.
4. Suggested that the Indian Divisions which are at present short of one
battalion per Brigade should, so far as possible, be completed by battalions
from the lines of communication. Presume that certain divisions will be
gradually withdrawn by you to lines of communications, thus rendering some
L. of C. battalions available for this purpose.
5. Troops available for other theatres noted.
The 3,600 British drafts should be despatched as arranged. At present
there is no intention of moving any other than these.
