In returning repatriated prisoners of war the following procedure should
be followed : —
1. Sorting and medical examination to be carried out before embarka
tion.
2 . Prior to embarkation, clothing and necessaries on Indian Summer
scale to be provided.
3. Despatch to be arranged as follows :—
{a) Fit men —
1. To Karachi; British Officers and Indian Ranks whose depots are located
in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Divisional Areas in India.
2. To Bombay ; all other British Officers, all British Ranks and those
Indian Ranks whose depots are located in areas other than those mentioned
in preceding paragraph.
(&) Sick —
1. To Bombay ; all British Officers and British Ranks.
2 . To Karachi; all Indian Ranks.
As* much detail as possible should be given in cables from Ports of
Embarkation to ensure rapid disposal on arrival in India ; Rank name and
