WAR DIARY,
Summary of events.
The statement of tonnage discharged per ship on 25th February was received from the Inspector General
of Communications, Force “ D. 1
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” requested approval of proposal to establish Divisional Sani-
tary beetions and Water Supply detachments for organized water supply in Divisions,
The Daily Situation Report showing no change on 27th February was received from the General Officer
Commanding, Force “ D.”
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” reported requirements to complete No. 7-L. A. M. Battery
arrived from East Africa.
The General Officer Commanding, Brigade, Karachi, reported request by French Officers for Dunsterforce
to have their journey to Baghdad expedited.
General Dunsterville reported the receipt of a telesrram from the Military Attache, Tehran, intimating that
Bolsheviks were proceeding Kasvin with the object of arresting Baratoff.
A statement showing strengths of various contingents Force “ D,” on 15th December 1917, was received
from the Deputy Adjutant General, 3rd Echelon, Force “ D.”
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” forwarded requirements in Haddick’s cookers for troops in
semi-permanent camps with a view to economy in coal and wood.
The Deputy Director of Railways, Force “ D,” forwarded requirements in Bogie trucks
Tfce General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” reported completion of demand by shipment on c< Aronda’*
of 2000 sword bayonets and scabbards, 1903 pattern.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” was requested to inform General Altham of Commander-
in-ChieFs wish that latter would inspect the 49th Bengal Infantry and report on their physical
fitness.
The Director, Medical Services, London, forwarded information regarding 46th Turkish Division at Aleppo,
Brigade of 11th Division at Muslimieh, remainder of 59th Division moving to Damascus and Railhead
10 kilometres E. of Tel Helif.
Colonel Rowlandson reported arrival of Colonel Clutterbuok
General Dunsterville at Hamadan reported that the only route open was by Tabriz and then only if he
were supported by adequate force as escort and to keep open the road and that it would be necessary
to hold road from Mesopotamia to Kasvin inclusive.
