The General Officer Commanding, Force pointed out that the duties of Local* Resources and 12780
Irrigation were quite separate and the proposal to combine them under one Director was not suitable
He proposed grading the Director of Local Resources as a Brigadier General and acting Director of
Irrigation as a Colonel.
The Chief of the Imperial General Staff, London, referring to situation in Persia and the importance of
keeping the Khank^n-Hamadan -Kasvin-Resht road open said it was desirable to employ 3 armoured
car batteries, which could be relieved by Locker Lampson’s Batteries, probably in May for that
purpose.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” reported the revised allotment of tonnage reduced in
consequence of releasing vessels from the India-Basrah run
The Deputy Civil Commissioner, Basrah, requested sanction for the exploitation of 2,000 bags cement by

Heaman Brothers, Karachi, for civil works.
The Deputy Civil Commissioner, Basrah, was informed that the exportation of 2,000 bags of cement in
possession of Herman Brothers, Karachi, was sanctioned.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” was informed that the balance of gram for civil population
was rice to taken up from general stocks.
The statement of tonnage discharged per ship on the 14th February was received from the Inspector Gene
ral of Communications, Force “ D.”
The Director, Military Intelligence, London, reported communications from Colonel Pike on the subject
of securing co-operation betwee n the Kurds and Armenians and requested the view of the General
Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” on the question.

This is accompanied by appendices containing copies and extracts of these papers, which include: telegrams, tables, memoranda, and letters.
