Summary of events.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “D,” reported that the Caucasus Military Agent stated that
whether conditions were severe and that Captain Noel would shortly leave Tidis for Baku.
The statement of permanent way stock in hand on 9th February was received from the Director of Rail
ways ,Force “ D.’ ,
The daily situation report for 15th February, reporting no change and the surrender of 137 deserters
during the past fortnight, was received from the General Officer Commanding, Force “D.”
The Chief of the Imperial General Staff, London, intimated approval of scheme regarding the dredging
of Hammar Lake.
The strength return of Force “ D ” by contingents on 12th January was received from the Deputy
Adjutant General, 3rd Echelon, Force “ D.”
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” reported the arrest of Sulaiman Mirza by a small
column which moved out from Khanikin on 8th February ; and discussed the question of liberating
him in view of policy towards democrats or of treating him as prisoner of war.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D/’ intimated the importance of the appointment of a techni
cal adviser to the Inspector General of Communications, Force “ D,” and defined his position and
duties.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” reported that suitable officers could be provided locally
for Deputy Director and Assistant Director, Irrigation, and that Major Lewis’ name had been noted.
The return of sick and wounded in Force “ D,” for week ending 2nd February 1918, was received from
the Director, Medical Services, Force “ D.”
The state of supplies in Mesopotamia on 9th February was received from the General Officer Commad-
ing, Force “D.”
The Secretary, War Office, London, was informed of the despatch to Basrah of certain rivercraft
The 1 Director, Military Intelligence, London, intimated that the proposed appointment of Major Clut-
terbuck vice Colonel Rowlandson was approved and requested consideration of the question of sending
officers to Baratoff and Clutterbuck for the organization of Russian troops.
