Summary of events.
The Deputy Adjutant General, 3rd Echelon, Basrah, reported requirements Medical Officer personnel
comprising 89 Medical officers and 2 Quartermasters.
The Director of Ordnance Services, Force “ D,” reported that the Assistant Director of Aviation, Baghdad,
was not prepared to accept castor oil unless up to War Office specifications or certified by General
Officer Commanding, Middle East Brigade, Royal Flying Corps, Cairo, as equally suitable.
The Deputy Adjutant General, Force “ D,” forwarded the effective strength return of Army Service
Corps, Mechanical Transport, showing trade deficiencies and surpluses.
The Director of Remounts, Baghdad, was informed of modified dates of despatch of 2nd and 3rd ship
ments of horses and increase over numbers already given.
Sir Claude Hill was informed by the Commander-in-Chief that the latter was anxious to despatch to
Mesopotamia a Committee of Farming and Irrigation Experts and asked for his assistance, especially
in regard to selection of suitable gentlemen for Committee.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “D,” was informed that the procedure in regard to Maude Memo

The^euretary, War Office, in reference to proposed splitting into two No. 29 Kurdish Labour Corps, and
formation of No. 39 Kurdish Labour Corns, was informed that there was no objection in India.
The Inspector-General of Communications, Force “ D,” was requested to arrange for 2,000 tons freight
for “ special ” timber in January in General Officer Commanding’s monthly shipping statement and
to make a standing monthly allotment of 2,000 tons.
