The following telegram has been received from General Officer Command
ing, Eorce “ D ” (Repeats Diary No. 1119)—'
British ranks of the Indian Signal Service of the pre-war army were on
the Indian Unattached List and as far as can be seen at present the re-organisa
tion of this service points to the fact that we shall require at least two thousand
British ranks for it. We are not in a position to say whether personnel of
Indian Signal Service will be borne on Unattached List or on rolls of R. B.
in post-war organisation but propose to reply that ail such men now seiving
with Indian Signal Units who offer to re-enlist under usual conditions
bounty for service with Signal Units may be accepted on understanding that
they agree to transfer from Unattached List to R. E. should post-war organise
ation require. Do you concur ?
