Summary of events.
Troops on November 2oth was received from the General Officer Commanding, Porce
The^Distribution of Troops on December 2nd was received from the General Officer Commanding, Force
The Port Traffic return for the week ending 22nd December was received from the Director, Inland Water
Transport, Basrah.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” was informed with regard to the scheme for some secret
agents being installed in Northern Persia, that the proposal was approved, and instructed to proceed
and inform M inister, Tehran, of action taken.
The General Officer Commanding, Force <! D,” informed the Secretary, TYar Office, London, of the position
as regards the supply of rails under supply from India.
The General, Northern Army, Rawalpindi, was informed that Brigadier-General L. C. Dunsterville had
been selected for special service with the Russian Forces, and should be ordered to proceed to Delhi
and report for orders as soon as possible.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” stated that at the present moment he had troops in
Khanikin and was sending an escort to Karind to meet and bring back the wireless detachment at
Kermanshah which had been working with the Russians.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” was informed that the return of serviceable gunny bags
was very important to ensure economy and requested to give careful attention to the matter.
The Director of Works, Basrah, was informed that his statement that no rolled steal beams had been
received since last May was not understood. He was informed of the situation regarding supply and
was asked to wire which outstanding demands were the most urgent.
Ibe Secretary, Mar Office, London, was inlormed of the class of ships and average number of days in port
for the week ending 23rd December.
The Secretary, War Office, London, was informed that local agents in India could no longer be relied on
to supply punctually lubricating oils needed for India and Mesopotamia and was asked to despatch to
Bombay certain quantities to constitute a regular supply.
