Felujah lines lea\ ing a balance of 65 miles, which is not yet allocated as far as
we know\ Of this 93 miles appear to have been delivered. Therefore, it
appears no rolling of 75 pound for Mesopotamia needed before latter part of
February, In regard to metre gauge original requirement provided for
delivery 100 miles second hand for Basrah-Kurnab and Baghdad-Baqubah
lines by end of February but this appears to have been accelerated and we
•change of one figure. calculate “ Hinsang ” shipment (Novem
ber ? 14*) completed delivery of all
but 11 miles. It appears necessary, at present rate of progress to provide
additional 41J pound rails by rolling at Tatas. Indication that you are
actually doing this is contained in your 80349 of 27th November 50 miles
is suggested by us. It appears to us that it should be possible to complete
rolling of above by early in February, allowing for 9 miles 75 pound which we
reckon you had on hand from October rolling and for 2,000 tons to Indian
railways. Has this your concurrence ?
